PostSubject: Luck points   Mon Mar 22, 2010 1:52 am

I see where they we're trying to go with this in an attempt to give the players a fair shake so to speak, but I think this rule is somewhat flimsy,in the knowledge that luck can be used at any given time by spending a few points to avoid impending doom. This to me is just more shit for the GM to keep up with ( in case of players who are cheating rotten bastards.) Luck should'nt be decided on points,I mean anytime I lose my ass while playing at a casino, the casino doesen't let me have my money back when i lose because i decided that things we'rent in my favor!

The system should be like this,if GM's want to use a luck system,it should be attribute based only, maybe there should be a percentage (%) implied or maybe PC's could roll a 1d20 where rolling a 3 or higher means failure,2 or below meaning success, this option may bog down the game at the same time, but it still works better than a point system, which to me is unrrealistic then just deciding that your character is "lucky".

OR have a Fair Minded DM who gets his players "out of the shit" when it looks like its going to ruin the game Laughing

THE only time you should need "luck" is when the dice rolls start screwing someone over, and thats what the DM is for surely.

Although I personally don't subscribe to the idea, as I mentioned in another post Don Turnbull of TSR UK never left ANYTHING to chance!

I would only use luck "if" my players we're gambling within the game..i mean 100% of any rolls made is suppossed to be luck anyhow,am I right?

100% right LoL!

If they want to gamble, thats up to them - I wouldn't interfere with it.

(I believe gamblings dumb whether real or fictional)
